captainharrie:

to be quite honest the trick to drawing most things and drawing art you like is to not try too hard

If you become too focused on getting things just right then you sacrifice the more expressive part of your drawing.

which in other words generally leads to stiff and kinda dull art

so don’t be afraid to draw things off model, you can always redraw things if you need to! nothing is ever set in stone, so don’t stress about it

when you do studies is when you should focus on figuring out how to draw things right, but when you’re drawing actual pieces don’t worry about the outcome and just have fun.

I can guarantee you’ll like a piece you had fun drawing more than one you stressed about getting right! So go wild!!
